After a challenging period in the 2000s, Samsunspor began a new chapter under the leadership of Robert Yüksel YILDIRIM, earning promotion back to the Süper Lig in 2023 and reestablishing itself as a competitive force in Turkish football.

ACADEMY
Samsunspor’s long-term vision is rooted in nurturing young talent and shaping the next generation of star players who can contribute to both Turkish and global football. In line with this ambition, the Club established one of Türkiye’s most advanced and modern football academies in Samsun – designed to combine elite athletic development with personal growth and education. The Academy represents a key pillar of both Samsunspor and Amissos’ football strategy, reflecting the commitment to sustainable success built from the ground up.
The new state-of-the-art Academy facilities were constructed between 2019 and 2023 and officially inaugurated in 2023. Today, the Academy hosts 164 players across 4 different age groups, providing high-performance training environments and professional guidance at every stage of development. Of these, 35 players are offered full onboarding, reflecting the Club’s dedication to identifying and investing in top potential. By placing the Academy at the heart of its model, Amissos is laying the foundation for a lasting football legacy – one that prioritizes discipline, opportunity, and long-term excellence.
